This year’s IFTRIP Annual International Conference proved to be another great success for the organisation. A broad spectrum of themes was brought to life by an exceptional range of speakers. The conference welcomed one of the largest international gatherings of terrorism (re)insurers, experts, academics and thought leaders coming together to learn the very latest on terrorism risk.

IFTRIP 2019 consisted of a rich programme and delegates were able to hear first-hand how the terrorist threat has manifested in recent years.  Examining subjects such as cyber terrorism, extremism and victim compensation, the day showcased a phenomenal range of speakers.  Contributions from industry experts sharing thought-provoking speeches and presentations helped clearly identify the work that has been and still needs to be done to build resilience against terrorism. The day was both fascinating and revealing, helping to define some of the issues facing global (re)insurance market.  Each organisation illustrates a different approach however all are looking to collaborate on how to respond to the changing terrorism threat landscape. Dr Christopher Wallace, CEO of Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC), was appointed incoming President of IFTRIP for 2020. Save the Date for IFTRIP 2020…

Next year’s conference will take place in Washington DC on 2 & 3 June 2020. Registrations for the event will open in February, and we encourage you to book your space early for what promises to be another unique event. EDIT (Tuesday 17 March 2020): In light of the recent announcement by the World Health Organisation (WHO) declaring the Covid-19 outbreak as a pandemic, the 2020 conference will take place in Washington DC on 13 & 14 October 2020.  Updates regarding registration will be circulated in due course.
