This year’s IFTRIP Annual International Conference proved to be another great success for the organisation. A broad spectrum of themes was brought to life by an exceptional range of speakers, as one of the largest international gatherings of terrorism (re)insurers, experts, academics and thought leaders joined together to hear the very latest information on terrorism risk.
Examining subjects such as cyber terrorism, extremism and victim compensation, delegates were able to hear first-hand how the terrorist threat has manifested in recent years. Contributions from an exceptional range of industry experts, sharing thought-provoking speeches and presentations helped clearly identify the work that has been and still needs to be done to build resilience against terrorism.
The conference was both fascinating and revealing, and helped define some of the issues facing global (re)insurance organisations, each of which take different approaches but who are looking to collaborate on how to respond to the changing terrorism threat landscape.
Dr Christopher Wallace, CEO of Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC), was appointed incoming President of IFTRIP for 2020. Dr Wallace’s appointment, announced at the conference, reported that he will assume his new IFTRIP role from January 2020.
Next year’s conference will take place in Washington DC on the 3 June 2020. Registrations for the event will open in January, and we encourage you to book your space early for what promises to be another unique event.
