25 years ago at 9.20pm on the 10 April 1992 an IRA bomb went off outside the Baltic Exchange on St Mary Axe, now the site of the ‘Gherkin’ building, which also largely destroyed the adjoining Chamber of Shipping building at 30-32 St Mary Axe. The bombing caused three fatalities and 91 injuries; although no Chamber staff were among the fatalities.
