Since 2003 Pool Re Terrorism Cover has included ‘damage’ caused by an Act of Terrorism that involves the use of chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear means (CBRN). Property insurance policies invariably exclude such claims from non-terrorist actors but where the reinsurance is provided by Pool Re policyholders can include CBRN in their terrorism cover.
BioTerrorism Livestream: Thinking the Unthinkable
On 24-25 March 2021, we were delighted to co-host the first large-scale BioTerrorism (Re)insurance conference.
The virtual conference, co-hosted with the BioRISC team, St Catharine’s’ College, Cambridge provided the 640 delegates with a better understanding of the malicious use of biological pathogens and the threat of terrorist actors using biological agents to cause mass casualties and significant economic damage.
